NICK .................
I don't, personally, know the differences between the '39 Deluxe and the '40 model, but I measured the width of my NOS '40 Radio Delete Bar and it is 1 13/16". It has all the mounting tabs present.

I have a very rusty original 39 Deluxe radio delete plate that I have copied for a few people out of hardwood and then covered it with Bare-Metal-Foil(a model building product to duplicate chrome) then paint the stripes dark brown. It really looks good when completed and is not too difficult to make. The only drawback is it is not as rugged as the original. Anyone with a table saw and moderate woodworking skills can make one. PM me if you want the dimensions and directions to make your own (I don't believe a 40 will work). Toby
