The Track restaurant opened in LA in 1949 and featured a new way of delivering food right to your car in a unique hooded tray. We have a neat series of photos, the patent drawings and the whole story behind it on The Old Motor.

Love the woodie in the second pic. I think it would be neat to see all those food carts scooting back and forth.
