I have a prize for the first bright red '36 five window picture posted - by it's current owner. Sorry, must be US or Canada so the shipping doesn't kill me. Let's see um.

Here ya go... just got her back from the paint shop. Color's a custom mix I call bright red. Course it looks a little different under fluorescent light.

Wow... some nice 36's here
Here are some build pics of my 36 coupe. It is a bit further along since these pics were taken. Finishing up plumbing and wireing. The interior will have to wait until this winter. ![]() ![]()

What a great color scheme! Love the gold block in the blue engine compartment and the gold wheels. Definitely royal. I was always a 39-40 man but these 36 coupes have changed my mind especially lowered and with the wide whites.

In early September 1952 I purchased my '36 Ford 5win Deluxe Cpe for the grand price of $225. The original owner was one of my high school teachers. The car had 51k on the odometer and was in stock condition.
I promptly set out to modify the car into a vehicle that was fitting for the times. I added hydraulic brakes, a column gear shift, on the left side of the column, a chrome dash, skirts, flipper disk hub-caps, long shackles to the rear and '37 Desoto bumpers.... I was so cool! After having the skirts stolen twice and the hub caps three times I went to stock '46 Ford caps and beauty rings. In 1954 I replaced the engine with a 59 AB bored .60, Jahns pistons, Weber F-1 cam, Offy heads and Offy Super dual manifold w/97's. The ignition is Harmon-Collins dual coil, exhaust is through stock '36 manifolds with 2" pipes running though stock type mufflers. The '41 trans was replaced with a '47-48 Merc trans and the Columbia was upgraded to a 46-48 unit using the stock '36 center section w/37 Radius bars. The front axle was replaced with a '42-48 axle dropped 2", tube shocks and '40 steering gears... Prior to repainting the car in '61 I removed the '37 Desoto bumpers and '41 wheels, in favor of stock items.. In 1963 I removed the 40 Chevy headlights which had been put on in '52. I have thought about returning the car to stock, however, it runs and drives so good, I have been reluctant to do so.

Here's a pic of the cabriolet that got me started with convertibles. I think we put 1,000 local miles on it the first year.

All these great '36 Fords and not one bright red five window posted yet. Sure want to send this prize to someone out there in Barnland.
