Not sure about the 35 but, on my 36, the dash has square nuts welded to the inside edge of the dash. There was some thin welting between the dash and the body metal (maybe 1/16" or even less) The 6 screws are flat head just slightly larger than the holes in the body and they fit nearly flush with the body metal.
