Default Re: What did you do today that was flathead V8 related?

Had to be towed home about 6 weeks ago when the Columbia on my '41 Ford Special Business Coupe failed to shift. Wouldn't go into high, wouldn't go back into low. Car no go. Parked it in the driveway and didn't look at it for a month. Looked at it last weekend and found that the bolts were loose on the vacuum valve assembly. The actuator never acutated because it was so out of alignment. Tightened the bolts and realigned it last weekend. Got it back in gear so it would drive. Too beat to test shifting. Today (this weekend) I took it for a test drive and shifted it twice back and forth from low to high. Everything perfect. Glad to have my car back!
