Yes, more than you think. The gears will fit the 1939 box. And they're better than the 1932 to 1937 (ish) gears.
I would keep them as spares if you don't find a bunch of $ for it.

I have sold the 40 and have this transmission leftover, that was my reason for asking. Might try selling it if it has any worth.
