my recently purchased '41 had just had a new starter installed before i had it hauled away to my storage area. and it has never turned the motor over very fast, and when warm, not at all. it sounded, to all the world, like it was binding to me.

the old one was in the trunk and so i tested it. it seemed to work, so i installed it yesterday (what a job!) and it's turning over like a champ now!

i'm guessing that the new one had been shimmed improperly...grrrr!

this is the very, very short story, BTW.
