The G-series 6 used the same basic transmission as the V8 but gearing may have been different. The top shift case for the light duty pickups from 1937 though at least 1951 are all compatible. The G engine had it's own half bell that is unique to that block. The 9N and V8 60 transmissions were the odd balls in that time frame. The-78 case could be used with early or late gears. That casting number is on the lower rear part of the casting.
