Default engine stalls when step on accelerator

1933 model B
Now that I finally got my car running again, idles fine, but engine stalls when step on accelerator. Could it be a fuel pump problem?

I doubt it is the fuel pump because the carburator should be full of gas when you step on the accelerator. The stock carburetor doesn't have an accelerator pump so it is not that. My guess is that it is in the carburetor, can you borrow another one you know works? By the way you should add your general location to your profile.

Do you have your mixture turned in too far on the choke cable. try turning it out a turn or so and see if it helps. I have seen bad condensors cause the same issue.

Have you tried turning the choke counter clockwise a little
to richen the mixture?

Never mind Michael beat me to it.

Turn the knob that you use to pull the choke.

Whole entire different animal. Look into the accelerator pump.

Probably easier (and cheaper) to fix, though.

That changes the whole game. You carb should have an accelerator pump. With the car not running press on the gas and see if you get a squirt of gas into the engine. If you don't, that is probably your problem. Probably time to rebuild the carburetor.

IS it me OR I would like to see JUST how a Stromberg 97 is working on a 33 4cyl (Model B) from what should be an "updraft" single barrel carburetor, right?

Just wondering, is a 97 carb a bit much for a stock 4 banger?

Lots of folks run either a Stromberg 97 or Holley 94 style carb - seems to work really well!
