I have used paracord on my boat steering wheels, I like it on the Model A, may give it a try and match my interior.

I just finished doing mine. The results are very similar to the OP. I used 3.5mm diameter braided jute. I looked into hemp, but the price was over 3 times that of jute and looks the same to me. A roll of jute is less than $10 for a 200 foot spool from Amazon. I’m not planning to put any sealant coating on it, I’ll just let it weather an see how it holds up.
