Two things to add here. Lawrie is being modest here. I've been reading through the Ford barn backwards from post #1 forward lately, and he has driven his '33 on much worse roads than that one! Reminds me of a story my father (OldDad in my avatar) told about taking a shortcut from somewhere around Redding California over to the coast at Eureka in his '33 Tudor. His shortcut petered out into a horribly rutted old dirt logging road. He had to move over to let a logging truck pass, and asked the driver if he thought he could make through to the other side. The driver looked over his car and said "You'll make it in that Ford"
Second thing, run that double whitewall question by DavidG, who will have all the answers for you! Highly recommend reading the old Fordbarn the other.way around, particularly if you missed it the first time around. The knowledge of so many of our sadly departed members will reward you many times over. |
