The actual CONTROL VALVE 55/56 has a 56 PN so it had to be a superseded part back when. I would guess it takes the B5AZ 3A754-A. I have the 49/59 MPC FINAL ISSUE and a 1959 dated issue and both read the same. While you are under there, check the 3C589 and 3C590 bushings also (shown on ILL below). The bushings that mount the cylinder shaft to the idler arm bracket usually are worn from fluid leakage.
