Fords part number for 1934 is the prefix "40" and the prefix "48" is for 1935. The 97 carb was used in 1936. The 97 was for point 97 inches diameter of the venturi which made it slightly more economical than a 48 or a 40 carb. The 97 also had a two position accelerator rod position for winter and summer which had the potential to save fuel which the other two carbs did not have. Regards, Kevin.
