Some folks even plumbed the oil flow from the pump right out the side of the oil pan for full flow back in the day. Some folks still do that stuff for nostalgia competition builds. It requires pump mods too but it is a way to gain full flow.

That is exactly what I do on the 284 stroker engine in my 32 Cabriolet. 100% filtration, full-flow filter and disguised inside of a FRAM type of container.
