Batt terminal - to regulator case+ engine RPM need to be increased to see full generator output. Use an analog meter 7.0 to 7.7 v is good but 7.2 to 7.5 is better.
First with engine off turn on country headlamp beam for one to two minutes then measure battery voltage at the regulator with headlights off should be 6.25 to 6.6V if not recharge the battery first. Then run engine at medium speed and with engine and regulator warm measure the highest voltage. You can see it is important your voltmeter is accurate.
