The crew chief was responsible for being sure the aircraft was safe to fly ... so much dedication that they rode along as one of the door-gunners!!

"The Man in the Doorway" was ALWAYS there when the shit hit the fan! You could always count on them to show up!

This kind of thing was going on EVERY day and sometimes at night also!
