i can tell you my troubles i had with my 36 pickup. it would crank slow. i had a good battery, but the connection on the starter switch was loose, i took it apart and cleaned it, put it back together, cranks over like it has 12 volts. check all your connections and make sure you have the right size cables. if your cables are to small your starter is not getting enough current
