Seems to be a problem loading pics right now, but got one to load, red wire to ground, black to battery, that's all it takes,
No need to spend big bucks on such a simple issue

Maybe run the black wire to the terminal box so that the load is reflected on the Amp meter?

Me too. No out of pocket because I already owned these... about $7 for the lead/outlet and a couple more for the USB adapter. Even though you're only putting in 6VDC (instead of the 12 it is marketed for) the little USB adapter modulates to 5.11VDC anyway. Another shade tree innovation but as always... YMMV!
