Good morning everyone, just wanted to introduce my self. My name is Sergio and I have embarked into a restoration project for a F68 Ford (1949). Will be restoring the car in Miami (looking forward for the cooler months). I am sure I will be accessing the forum fairly often in the near future. I have attached photos of the car. Looking forward to trade notes with the forum members.

Looks like a good solid candidate for restoration. There have been several F1 restorations shown on her, so I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding help/advise. And remember one thing, we love pictures! |

You found a Canadian type. These are similar to the US built F3 type but some things are different. The Canadian ones generally have a different transmission unless that one has later transplants. The cab & bed look pretty good. Welcome on the Barn.

I didn't notice it was heavy duty. Do you have all the pieces? Having a complete vehicle is always a big cost saver when doing a restoration. That and doing most of the work yourself.

Welcome, take all the pictures/angles you can as you dis-assemble the truck, they will be priceless when you start your re-assembly.
Box and label all your small parts/bolts for reference and date the box. Dating the box's helped me remember the sequence/order I took when disassembling. I would leave the body as is and get it mechanically sound, I love the way it is. |
