This was to be the new engine for my 1929 Special Coupe. Since I will be selling the Coupe shortly, I am selling the engine. Here is what has been done to it. When I got the engine it had been recently bored to .050. There was no ridge on the cylinders, but I lightly honed the cylinders and hand fitted new TRW rings. I hand seated the valves and carefully set them to .012. The crank checked out good and I re-shimmed it. The oil pump was checked and packed with Vaseline. All internal parts were assembled with assembly lube. The entire engine was hand cleaned and spray painted with heat resistant paint. Every bolt was cleaned and spray painted whether it was supposed to be painted or not. Water pump is excellent and was repacked. Starter was fitted with a new bendex and was bench tested. Carburetor was completely rebuilt and the distributor was fitted with a new cap, wires and timed to the engine. The engine is currently fitted with an early oil pan but a very good later style pan is included. I am also including a good pressure plate and a complete, but dirty, transmission. The engine is very complete except for the generator; I do not have an extra. At one time the engine probably was rebuilt by one of the early rebuild facilities as the serial number space is blank. I will be happy to answer any questions. Please address them to Neil at [email protected] Last edited by Psych; 07-23-2017 at 06:43 PM. Reason: Sold |
