Bed is on, still need to do some patch work on the "farmer patches" but it is fitting up nicely. Also needs some repair on the back bed crossmember where the tailgate hinges are but that looks like an easy repair.

Tailgate is back on. All three mounting points were broke where the brackets attach to the rear channel. Cut out the bad, cut some new patch panels and it is back on and rock solid. Also picked up some good used original chains and brackets from a fellow barner. Still deciding on whether to patch the rear fenders, I have a spare that can be used for patches but I kinda like the old "farmer" fixes. What do you guys think? Patch them and blend in the paint or leave them?

The fenders look great to me but it's your call. My '36 looks like that and lots of people agree with me that it should stay that way.

Looking back at your beginning 10-15, you have made remarkable progress. Looks like you need glass, other than that I'd call her about done.

Thanks!! Yeah it was a pretty big challenge. All that Is left is some glass, wiring, and a seat. Plus going through all the odds and ends.

Any insight into HOW you were able to match the patina so well? Did I miss something in the thread? I've got some patch work that I'll need to paint as well, and looking for hints/tips.

Well when I get going I tend to leave my phone inside and not take pics. Basically I put paint on, hit it with a cloth while it is still wet to add some wear marks, then let it dry. I then do another coat and when it is tacky I throw metal shavings in the paint. Hit it with some salt water to activate the rust in the shavings and from there it is just rubbing it out, hitting it with a chain to add more marks. In about a week or two, it looks like old paint. The metal shavings rusting stains the new paint.

And just like that she is gone. I live on a pretty busy road, lots of people always stop to see what I am working on. A guy stopped and made an offer that I could not pass up. Kinda sad to see her go but it is going to a great guy. Looks like I am on the hunt again.
