And a couple questions for Mitch.

Were you working on an original gav housing or a repro?

And how was the fit?

I am asking because the two are different, and a lot of thought and experimentation was put into the final design and machining of the socket to allow it to fit properly on both, when they are obviously different.

I have a trick to making these which no one will ever figure out in order to facilitate for the difference, however, it also is what makes these sockets difficult to make and creates a situation where they have to be made one off, individually fitted, and not mass produced.

Hi Bill
I was working with original Gav's, just removing them from the carbs I have to rebuild. The fit was tight with no slop at all so I can't answer right now about the repo fit. I am not a tool and die / machine man but I have a thought of what your secret design maybe for it to hold the repo's also, but I won't tell anyone so don't worry ...
Again thanks so much and I am looking forward to everyone else receiving their sockets.
