Default 48 coupe- sedan coupe vs coupe for 1948

I'm a little confused about a 5 window coupe, business coupe, (plain old) coupe and sedan coupe for year 1948.
I assume what is referred to a 5 window coupe would be the business coupe, maybe and Super Deluxe Sedan Coupe would be the longer top coupe?
The reason I ask is on the La Barron-Bonney site they ask for the model as in sedan coupe or 5 window coupe.
Jeez I'm mixed up! Could someone set me straight on this?
Thanks.

I would suggest that you contact La Barron-Bonney and get the definition from them. That way there will be no guessing or getting the wrong kit.

There are two different coupe bodies...the sedan coupe type uses the wide door from the tudor and has a longer roof allowing a decent back seat. The other type uses the narrow door from the fordor and has a shorter roof that drops down more quickly than the other. Obviously all side panels and headliner are different, for starters.

Thanks for the info Bruce. I didn't know the doors were used on the different models that way.

I always heard that if it's a business coupe it has the short doors.

I don't believe LeBarron Bonney recognizes the "business coupe" moniker for the 41-48 series preferring "standard coupe". At least that was my experience with them.

I believe short door or long door would be the best all around description.
That should avoid any confusion.
