1928 AR Rims

I'm cleaning out my garage, I have 4 AR rims in nice condition and someone who what's to purchase them from me, what is a fair asking price? He's asking me to give him a price for the set.

I recently paid $80 AUD (a bit under $100 US) for ONE, in good condition and primed.

Last swap meet, there was a pile of rims that were offered to me for free or they were not being taken home and thrown in the dumpster.

$80 AUD is about $66 USD.

Hoogah you may live upside down to the US but your conversion is upside down too.

I sold a set of four about a year ago. Very nice, no pits. straight. $240 for set.

Yes, set of 4. That means 4 AR wheels. Two for front and two for rear.

I'm not sure why it was designated as a "wheel assembly" instead of "wheel" as previously.

Might be because it was made from more than one part. Other wise assembled.

The steering wheel is like that, an "assemble". Also, looking up on MAFFI sight,
it has references too sub-assembles..

btw, I purchased 2 of the E-28 wheels for $15 each,..nice shape also. This was
last year at the Selma swap meet..

In the March 1, 1930 "Parts Price List" book, both styles of the 21" wheels were named "Wheel" and the 19" wheel was named "Wheel Assembly". Yes, both wheels are welded assemblies of rim, spokes and hubs. It just seems odd to call one a "wheel" and the other one a "wheel assembly". Both wheels are priced identically, at $5 each, so it does not seem likely that anything else was included, such as hubcap, valve stem or rim liner. There may be more information on the drawings, which I do not have. Don

I said that because at the cylinder plant that I worked at. That is what we would have called it a Assembly. Why they would call one that and not the other I have no clue.
