George basicly gave me my start in the Flathead world as we know it today, I was a recovering alcoholic working in a body shop, when in walked this bearded fellow asking if anyone knew anything about Flatheads. That was the beginning of a great relationship. I put togerther a coupla engines for him and he suggested I write a book about them. And that as they say is history. Over the years I've trie to make up for some of my past transgressions, by helping people and if someone wants to call, email or whatever, to tell me I'm an ass h*, so be it, I try not to judge people and sometimes I can be kinda gruff, I mean well. Like that teacher you had in school that gave you a ration of SH** every once in awhile. I do my best to help. So don't be so hard on George, he's getting old too.

Hi Ron; Happy birthday this coming Tuesday, the way this thread started it will still be going on your birthday. George, thanks for your post. Ron thanks for mentioning recovery, you know we're on the same path with it, and it's important folks know there's help and hope available. Since Walt mentioned a visit I guess we better get your VT to ME chauffeur off his az, when the weather warms, and get you up there for the cruise night and lawn racing. I'm lucky to know ya.
