V8COOPMAN….Thanks for the nice compliment….however….perfection in reality it is not…it has its scars that time has so slowly inserted here and there. It’s an ole Hot Rod from the 50’s to early 60’s. Came out of hibernation a few years ago after being in storage in the mid 60’s….garage find, I guess. I have been working on it for a few years now, getting it back to its ‘Ole Glory’. The 59AB was bored out 1/8” and has the 4” Merc crank, 276 inch, Isky cam, Johnson lifters, Jahns Racing pistons ( as they were called ) Navarro heads and intake, two Stromberg 97’s and so on….all done so many years ago. Original tranny and 3.78 rear end. The paint is far from perfect, or as they say, nice from far, far from nice. This paint was done in the early 60’s in enamel, including enamel clear over the metallic blue…..I knew right away when fine sanding and hand buffing. Sanding clear enamel has a distinct odour which brought back memories, as I painted many a car back then and the lacquers were bad for long durations and prone to cracking. So, enamels came back for me. I had the intention of a full frame off restoration, but buddies here refuse for me to do it…”leave it the way it is”…is the word. With this, I am working on a lot of details, and keeping it true to its find. I am not the only one here, a lot of Ford Barners are doing the same, and encourage them to do so. Just thought everyone would like to know….Robert
