Default Carb fun, Runs like junk out of the blue.

Having a nice weekend all pretty and purring nice, out of the blue runs like junk, Leaking fuel out of the carb body, she must be flooding. And she is.
Took it all apart today, 4 th time in 2 months, This is an edelbrock 4 barrel 800, modern but all the same principals apply, carb tech has not advanced drastically in the last 60 years, Lot of residue in the bowl, both sides, dark hard residue, clean everything out of the bowls, go after the floats, the brock is just like an old carter, has 2 needle valves set in bodies, if you unscrew the bodies there are very fine filters in there, they were both full of residues, a lot of it, just for sniggles and bits I sent a stainless brush for faucets into the fuel rail that interconnects the valves, I pulled out a lot of what appeared to be sands, although I must admit it could have easily been decomposed rubber product. That"ll do it, after cleaning I reassembled her and problem solved.
To the root of it, Im not sure what this stuff is, casting sand? rubber from my hoses, but it sure gave me symptoms of what a lot of you guys seem to be going through, for my part I have a nice fuel system, a high quality holley pump for racing, Aero quip fuel lines, Aero quip fittings a nice holley regulator a brand new drake stainless tank, A really nice Fram cannister filter, I blew 150 psi air and fuel washed all of my hose as I installed it.
My one weak spot in the system is a fuel filter at the carb itself after all of the hosing, that is my recommendation to you guys with troubles. clean it very thoroughly and install one.
