Default radiator cap replacement

On my 1950 Club Coupe with a 296" Flathead V8, the radiator cap is a very old lever type cap. I want to replace it with a 4# regular cap, but the filler neck is 3/4' deep instead of 1" which I understand is normal. The only I.D. I can find on the radiator is Jake's Radiators. It is a brass radiator. The caps that I can find are for the deeper filler neck so they won't close. I want to stick with the low pressure cap since I have the original heater. I have read many posts on the site, but mostly they discuss low vs high pressure caps, not the depth difference. Has anyone else found a solution for this?
Thank you,
Larry
