Thanks Kube, here is what i found by researching Pyroxylin:

What Pyroxylin Fabric Was
Pyroxylin fabric = cotton or linen coated with cellulose nitrate (pyroxylin).
Used historically for:

Vintage luggage

Early automotive interiors

Bookbinding

Military gear

Early waterproof fabrics

It was valued for:

Water resistance

Glossy or leather‑like finish

Moldability

But it had one fatal flaw: cellulose nitrate is highly flammable.
