A post in the Vintage Thunderbird Club International's 1955-1957 Thunderbird forum has spurred me to try and determine if more than one glovebox door emblem for V-8-equipped 1957s and 1958 Ford full-size cars were used. A picture of a "Thunderbird Special" emblem with a T-bird "Vee-bird" and a script 'Special' superimposed over its bottom appears to be B7A 7004407-C for designation of the 4-barrel-245 hp "D"-code 312 cu.in engine. I'm trying to determine if similar emblems were issued for the "E"-code 270-hp 2-4v "Thunderbird Super" V-8 and "F"-code 300 hp 4v-supercharged "Thunderbird Supercharged" V-8. I did not find listings in parts catalogs from 1957 and 1959 Master Parts Catalogs and annual parts catalogs other than the B7A 7004407-C for 1957 V-8s.
Likewise, I'm trying to figure out if, for 1958, a glovebox door emblem other than the "Interceptor Special" V8 emblem for "H"-code 4-barrel 300 hp 352 cu.in. engines, B8A 7004407-A, was used. I want to remember seeing a similar emblem with only 'Interceptor' above the '8' and between the 'V' on an "Interceptor" 332 cu.in. 2-barrel 240 hp equipped '58 Custom 300 Tudor (I don't think it was a 332 cu.in. "Interceptor Special" "G"-code 265 hp 4-barrel) that I frequently saw in college in the mid-1980s, but there's not part number or description for one in period annual and master parts catalogs for '58 other than the B8A 7004407-A "Interceptor Special" emblem.
