Re: Mercury vs. Ford
**********CLARIFICATION OF POST*********
My above post on the front seat width comes from the following experience. We have a 1946 Mercury Coupe that at the time of purchase was in need of a front seat. We had an acquaintance here in town, at that time (20 years aga now) that was hot rodding a 1946 Ford Coupe and was putting bucket seats in his coupe. He gave Us his front bench seat, which was narrower (as there was a larger than normal space between the door and the seat bottom/back than what seemed should be. We later found a Mercury front seat which in fact was wider than what we got here locally from the coupe. We "assumed" that it was original to the car as it was identical in form to what it needed to be and I am NOT sure that it was correct to the 46 Ford, we assumed at the time that it WAS, BUT my statement was based off of that "experience".
