Transmission goes 'boing'

Hi gents and others.. for decades my transmission has gone boing when changing direction especially to reverse. It happens when the clutch is released. A friend's truck does the same thing.

I've recently rebuilt the gearbox but it still does it. Can't tell if it's coming from the diff or gearbox.

Any ideas anyone?
