Radiator repair
When I did up my '48 the rad looked good. Straightned the fins, gave it a coat of paint-but the engine ran hot. Tried flushing the usual way and then the white vinegar method. Still ran hot.
Took it to L-A radiator in Auburn, Maine and got it recored. Rick at L-A told me the old core was plugged and that someone had removed 5 tubes at some point in the past.
Also, had my starter looked at by Belanger's in New Bedford. They told me the brush springs were weak and that the brushes were bouncing up and down across the commutater as the armature spun!
Sometimes things look good, but work poorly.
