Pictures and computer scanning/transfering

I have a couple of photos I dug out of a book that depict the early 1928 2-Window Fordor Sedan.

I scaned these two photos into my photo album in hopes to use them in a document.

However they come out very grainy.

How can I scan these photos to get them to come out as the same quality as in the book to transfer into my document?
