How I found this location is that I have a Google Alert for my name, 'Jim Mason' and I receive a lot of alerts that deal with a Jim Mason from the Ford Barn. Now as I have a '78 Ford F150 Club Cab Pickup with a problem, I figure, why not come here?
So if you do not mind, here is my problem. When I start my 302 V8 and drive it for say 30 minutes and turn it off, it will not restart for another two hours. In fact it has trouble turning over. Is sounds like it is turning over slowly under a weak battery(that is new). I am running off the auxillary tank and the fuel pump does not seem to be the problem. If I had to guess, I would say it sounds like an electical problem. Could it be points, ground, distributor or whatever? I am desperate for ideas. It is a very good looking, fire engine red, and in decent shape. Other than the fact that it only gets nine miles a gallon and has this issue of slowly turning over after running for fifteen minutes, but will restart on its own after a couple hours of sitting, it is a good secondary vehicle if I can get past this. Thank You for any recommendations or ideas. Jim Mason II Brownville VFD Nebraska State Coordinator Tea Party Patriots |
