But, I was a good boy and replaced the flywheel, ring gear, clutch, pressure plate, universal joint, throwout bearing, and all the trimmings for the next fifty years of touring.

That's interesting. I get a kind of rumble or vibration on deceleration that some have said could be caused by a bad universal joint.
Thanks guys for all the info. I have a lot of things to check and hope to start in April.
