I would buy a metal shelter for under $1000 to store a car in. This would be those metal frames with a metal roof that comes down a couple feet on the sides 12' x 20'. 400 miles is definitely too far away for car storage. Most places have no restrictions of this type shelter because it isn't considered permanent. Put it beside your garage, and you'll have one side closed.
