Default Radiator Brace Rod Dash Brackets

I am getting ready to have the cab painted on my 1930 CCPU. The radiator brace rod dash brackets were previously bolted to the firewall with 1/4" machine bolts. I plan to replace the 1/4" bolts with the radiator brace rod bracket mounting screw set, which are cadmium plated, rather than riveting them in place.

My question: what is the size(diameter) of hole on the firewall and on the radiator brace rod brackets? I am not sure if the seller drilled the holes larger to accomodate the 1/4" bolts, or if in fact the bolt holes are 1/4" in diameter.

My second question is in regards to the finish of the radiator brace rod dash bracket. I am unable to locate any reference as to there finish in the Judging Standards. I have seen many that have a cadmium finish. So are the brackets to have a cadmium finish or to be painted body color like the firewall?
