Re: No spark
So I got it figured out. The armor cable that goes into the distributor was not turned in enough for the inner wire to make contact with the lower plate. Sometime today I had that disconnected to make sure I was getting power that far. Having read not to screw it in to much I made sure to only give it 3 turns in. Turns out it needed more than that. That would explain, why I thought I had power earlier, but lost it along the way. The second problem which was intermittent was a broken wire between the upper and lower plate in the distributor. You couldn't see it. and when I removed it from the car and tested it the wire was fine, but installed. No connection.
Having gone thru this, and had a very good walk thru today I now feel confidant to trouble shoot this again, should it ever be problem. Thank you Mitch//pa and Tom Wesenberg for the help. I did try to start it, and got some life, but the carb is now leaking fuel all over the place. Here is a picture of it awhile back while assembling it.
