Default A question on '47 Ford moldings

Good Morning,

I have recently come to understand that the hood moldings for '47 Fords had some additional detail on the leading end and are not simply smooth.

I am aware that '47 and '48 moldings are different in that the '47 trim is more teardrop shaped when looking a the end profile and the '48 trim is 'crested' in the center.

However, I was never aware of the 'hash marks'/additional detail on the hood moldings. I have attached a couple photos of the hood moldings I have. Did Ford make both variations for the '47 model year?

Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thor
