I went to Sears and bought the largest 6V battery that would fit in my 53, at -20F you could count the teeth on the flywheel when the starter engaged, always started first turn. Used to take about a mile or so before the oil pressure registered, never got much heat even with the radiator blocked off. Those were the days, 42 years ago when the 53 was just an old rust bucket, don't I wish I had it now.
