My 1954 Ford Victoria (Fordomatic) is giving me fits ; it has begun to vibrate at 40 MPH and it gets worse as the speed increases . So far I have had all four wheels / tires spin balanced all to no avail . What else might be going on ; any advise would be greatly appreciated .

Bad U-joint in the driveshaft?
Have you replaced a brake drum recently? They can be out of balance. Front end alignment? Worn or dry rotted rubber bushings in the front suspension? Loose rivets or broken tabs on the flexplate? But the vibration would more likely vary with engine rpm instead of road speed. Slip it into neutral to see if the vibration goes away? . |

U-joint is the most likely.

Check that the bellhousing bolts are tight to the block.

U-joints tend to be more of a time part, not a mileage part.

Both front drums were changed which was previously mentioned as a potential issue ; I will investigate .
