Is anyone familiar with Terry Deters Restorations in Temperance, MI? Pros or cons? Apparently specializes in Model A's. Five man operation so not a backyard hobbyist. Thanks for your input!

If you are looking for top show car restoration, Deters is probably the best having turned out 15 MARC 'Henry' Award winners. Doesn't get better than that.

They've been around for many years. In 2003 they were hired by Ford to restore the 20,000,000 Model A.

I agree with jb-ob. Deters Restoration does an excellent work. Owner has been involved in Model A restoration work for as long as can remember. Excellent work

Terry Deters is a competitor as we are both in the same business but he is also a very good friend. I would have no reservations about recommending him.

Thank you to all for your input! Now I am thinking he may be too good for what I need - LOL! But is is nice to know that such a awesome restorer flies mostly under the radar around here and is just 15 miles away! Thanks again.

Good Morning...I feel that you should still go and talk to him. If he will not do what you need...I'll bet he will send you in the right direction. Ernie in Arizona

Many shops have a big backlog….even at today’s prices!!
2-5 years might be expected to stage at many shops Last edited by Oldbluoval; 04-01-2026 at 01:24 PM. |

As far as Terry flying under the radar, Terry is like 72 or 73 years old now and his 'glory years' of dealing with his employees and customers, ...and meeting demanding customer's unrealistic deadlines or supply issues are probably things he wants to be behind him. |

Good advice. Thank you! BTW - it turns out he graduated from high school with my wife - they didn't know each other... over 900 kids in the senior class!
