As I decide what I am keeping from my '36 Ford Fordor parts car, I have / will have some parts I need to know the interchange on, hence the slightly vague title.
1) Do the front bumper brackets interchange with any other years? Pickups? 2) Do the front doors by any chance interchange with a coupe? Seems like I read that once, but my memory is sketchy. 3) the hood stops / bumpers (not sure what they are actually called) that bolt on the top edge of the fenders and the hood draws up against. Do these work on any other years? 4) steering column and gear interchange? Thanks in advance. |

Bumper brackets: Outer brackets should work on a pickup.Inner brackets 35,36 same.
Doors will not interchange unless modified. Hood stops etc you noted are 36 pass car only as are the inner fenders. Steering column interchanges with 35. Steering gear to me is junk .Replace with a 37-40. |

1936 was worm and sector.
1937 was worm and roller. It is possible that your so-called 1936 steering box had already been swapped out for a 1937, as the worm and roller's superiority is common knowledge.

The front door latches fit all 1935-36 closed cars and cabriolets. The inside handle mount also fits all 1935-36 closed cars and cabriolet, and can be used on most late 1931 through 1940 closed cars and cabriolet. The link between the front door latch and inside handle mount is the same as 5 window and sedan delivery (but can be modified to fit most any year 1931-40). The front door window regulators and glass bottom channels fit all 1936 closed cars (not cabriolet). The internal window channel support guides fit all 1935-36 closed cars. Rear door latch and window parts are 1935-36 fordor only.
None of the above hardware is available in a quality reproduction today so if the doors get scrapped save the hardware. |

However, I am getting so overwhelmed, that I may end up trying to sell the shell with doors, decklid, running boards and let somebody else tear it down or build it from there. I really need this out of my way before summer. |

I have 4dr doors on my 35 coupe. the modification is not that difficult. the coupe door curves down a bit towards the back of the door. Everything else is the same.

Exactly , it’s a very easy modification to make fit a 35 or 36 5 window coupe. Essentially all you have to do is grind the top edge down about 3/16” at the back edge and blend it forward about a foot. Usually the inner folded edge can be dropped down after you grind the edge and you just need to weld the edge back together when you are happy with the gap. Much easier than rust repair

What are these panels correctly called? They go between the headlight bracket and the front inside edge of the fender.

My right rear fender on my 35 coupe has a sedan fender grafted to it. They cut most of the original off and leaded the two together. I wish I could find a left rear fender as it is much worse than the right.

When i was putting my 35 together 12 yrs ago i found a guy up by Muskegon mi that had a few 35 coupe fenders hanging in his barn, only problem was he wanted about $3000 per pair. so I brazed and patched my originals, would have been better to spend the money.
