When I first read the title to this thread….I imagined a bunch of old guys with hubcaps for helmets……a grease gun for a weapon….taking cover behind a stack of old tires!……
Oh well,…..the image in my head made me chuckle for a minute. Back to your regular program with no more silly commercials……….Mark

They are so sophisticated now that they come onto you with a warning of an attack, to don't close this window until you scan your system, and do not close this window until all instructions are complete. And, of course, it displays a prominent CLOSE button. NEVER CLICK THOSE BUTTONS!
EDIT: Validate the communication as legitimate by what personal info it already knows about you, such as addressing you by name, and perhaps also an account number. If referring to a purchase order, it should correctly identify the item supposedly purchased.

I notice that the 3 second bot-check 'Are you a human' thing we saw yesterday is no longer coming up when I enter the site. Is this the same for all of you?

I'm so computer illiterate that to me 'reinstalling chrome' is a job that real car painters need to do after the paint dries. Around my place we just switch to a smaller brush and cut neatly around the chrome.

Drag your chrome icon to the trash and empty the trash. You’ll get a pop-up question to confirm that action, say yes. Then go to the App store and download chrome to reinstall. That cost me $10, (I thought it would be free.) It’s well worth the $10 to get it back so I don’t lose my FordBarn!

Since yesterday I am unable access the BARN with a message, "Sorry, you have been blocked"
I run a VPN in Windows 11 using the Brave browser. To get access I have to shut it off. This behavior is very recent and did not occur When the validation step was added a couple of weeks ago. |

It sounds like some of you never clean up your temporary internet files. What I am saying is that every time you go to a site, it leaves a data file of the address of the site on your computer. Even if you delete your most recent entries, there are still entries from months ago out there.
Click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of this screen and then find Delete Browsing Data. Go back as far as you can and then delete. It may take a while to finish. Be prepared to re-enter ALL your sign-on credentials as they will also be removed from every site you have visited. It's the way it is. But this should give you a fresh start. |
