We ordered a pair last week and used them in the shop this weekend. Both Will and I tested them (multiple times myself) and were pleasantly surprised with the results. I still suspect that I may want to order another pair and grind the tips for a skinnier profile, but honestly I think that they worked well as-is. The wider handles are more comfortable for the hands when exerting more pressure. We used our Amazon Prime account to buy the tool so for $21.00 and free shipping I think it was a good buy. We’ll see how they last over time but for now it’s definitely a thumbs up from me.

Same here, Mac. I was never happy with the Craftsman version. Mine should arrive this week.

I bought two pair, the #1409 & the 1407 which is the "thinner" tipped. The 1407's worked better IMO, they can actually fit in the groove of the lock ring for a better bite. Will be ordering the 1408's now so I will have ALL three versions!!!!

Check McMaster -Carr. I bought some snap ring pliers from them and they were top quality tools. Might not have what you want, but its worth a look. if you call them, they will tell you who the manufacturer is. Good folks to deal with.
