Questions on Wittek clamps.
First. Are they numbered in sizes ? For example I has 5/16” rubber in US made fuel lines betwwen the LZ carbs but plan to has 3/8” from tank under car to firewall. I also has water tubes ( FH ) and I think OD on rubber might be round 2.3”. Any suggested sizes ? Then, how are the periods, can one see dates, if had the older holes or cadmid surface or steel. I has bought some from 2 ( 3 ) places but will get them soon but now I bought 3/8” as he said work fine and dated 4/48. No holes but look like a steel shell. Others I bought, seen pictures is cadmid surface some with holes, some not. No detail on numbers ( size ) or date. Will soon know. I has only 2 of the larger ones ( 60 mm ) But I need 10 more. Its not that easy try figure all this out and find the parts. Some of my buddys say I’m a nut. Shore, I can go to Walmart, but its not that fun. |

For fuel line, you need Wittek's #2. They are getting VERY hard to find. Nystrom is making new ones if you can't find old ones.
The ones I have seem to all be stainless steel, but with different coatings depending on when they were made. I am a stickler for details and hose clamps are one of those things where I have no issue paying up to ensure they fit the era of my car. I've buy #2's whenever I can find them. |

Wittek clamps are used a lot in early Corvettes. They have been re-popping them for at least 40 years. Any dates during that period are readily available. I would expect that's not an unusual case.

Corvettes don't use the thumb screw style clamps that the hot rodders want.

Not sure on which size clamps are used on Vettes, but #2's are very hard to find.

Here is my 3 orders, hard to think this is repro and I guess it’s 40’ most of them.
Some told me early ( 40’s ) is cadmidded but 50’s has steel band but the ones dated 4/48 has steel bands. Last edited by 3W Hank; 02-13-2026 at 03:37 PM. |

Mine are mix of stainless and cad plated. Could be for different applications. I'd assume stainless was aviation, but I have no way to verify. |

I bought some of the nystrom clamps when they first came out (just a few months ago if I recall correctly). I haven’t installed them yet. Let me know if anyone wants detailed pictures of them. They are not installed yet as my car is at the interior shop.

It always good when good repros comes out, please show them.
I think the old Nr 2 is not that hard to find, but the bigger ones to water tubes is really hard. I has only 2 of them, but I has 12 NOS std Ford. |

On Wittek clamps to FH water tubes, I has the std Ford clamps and they are
marked A - 2.1/8 ( 2.125" ) Open ( end of screw ) they are around 2.20". One friend showed me his Wittek clamps, marked #36 and showed the rubber hose is 54 mm or as the std Ford 2.1/8". The ones I bought, I has not them here yet is 60 mm or 2.36". -But seller told me that is what he used. The bigger ones is hard to get, so now I has just 2 of them. Ideas of this ? |
