Merry Christmas to all.

It's the night before Christmas
And out in the garage
No trace of a Chevy, nor even a Dodge
Our gifts are all wrapped
And the tree is all lit
So I thought that I'd mess
with my 'Stang for a bit

As I popped the release
And lifted the hood
A voice from behind me said
"Looks pretty good"!
Caught by surprise, I turned around quick
In front of my workbench stood
Good old Saint Nick!

We stood there a bit,
Not sure what to say
Then he said "Don't suppose you'd trade for my sleigh"?
I said " No way, Santa," and started to grin
"But if you've got the time,
Wanna go for a spin?"

I didn't know whether he'd say "Yes" or "No."
But he started to smile, then said
"Okay, let's go!"
So not to disturb the neighbors asleep
We pushed my 'Stang quietly out to the street.

Snow fell this morning and covered the lawn
But it's been cold today, so not much was gone
With drifts piling up all over the city
The moonlight upon them reflected so pretty

Then we both hopped in to leave Boulder Hill
I twisted the key and started the mill
The bark from the engine took him by surprise
But he liked it a lot, from the look in his eyes

With Michelins squealing and pipes all aglow
We both headed off, ignoring the snow
And Santa's grin widened as I dripped down a gear
"This sure beats the sleigh that I've driven all year!"

Down backroads and byways, my 'Stang fairly flew
The wind in our face blew his beard all askew
And he yelled "Can't recall when I've felt so alive!"
So I eased off the gas and asked: "You wanna drive?"

Ol' Santa was shocked when I handed the keys!
As he walked around the headlights, he shook at his knees!
The 'Stang roared back to life with its thundering sound
Santa dropped it in "Low" and the car shook the ground

Then shifted to Second, and then into Third
I just sat there grinning, at loss for a word
Then I heard him exclaim as we roared out of sight
"Merry Christmas to all... it's been a GREAT NIGHT!"

Mercman, did you pen this? It is exceedingly well written.
