engine stalls when step on accelerator

I doubt it is the fuel pump because the carburator should be full of gas when you step on the accelerator. The stock carburetor doesn't have an accelerator pump so it is not that. I swapped out my carb for another Stromberg I have and the can ran great.

I installed a new downdraft intake with the stromberg on top. This supposedly gave me 10 % more power? I could always go back to the updaft and the zenith carb if I have to.
