Thanks for showing.
It look very equal to my ends in design but several look longer as I showed picture of. Issue on my is the KP CC as I'm far from the std 50.5" or even 51" as one herd it might be the indication, but who knows if that was all a standard he had (?) What CC is your KP, measure from above so same reference is done. |

I'm partial to Oakie Adam's axles that he did with this shaped drop section; but I think a "dago" axle would be more suited to the era you are trying to replicate (unless that has changed).

Right now I’m a Okie-man but as history its late 40’s so that should be fine.
Dago is cool to and both axles are real ugly but the Okie feels better, nicest axle is a moderate drop heavy. |

I had 3 of 34-36 axles and they don't fit my ideas.
One of them was a old drop and old deep chrome supernice axle and people seen it was stunned, but to thin for my taste so I sold it to a friend. It will be on a rebuild on one of the most famous 60's hotrods in Sweden. I wish I had found a axle with the Okie text on. If one has one and like to sell = contact me. |

Tony, no, they were a solid, flame cut slug with the radius’s part of the cut. The stock axle was cut in two places on each end and the slugs were welded in place. Okie told me he held eight different welding certificates at one time. I was also told that some of the slugs were used as door stops at Blair’s after Okie stopped working there. I believe Pete Eastwood was the one who told me that. I really got into researching and talking to him after Lewis McMillan installed one of his axles under the Arvel Youngblood ‘32 roadster.

rich b, you have a nice one and the font is dead on. I’m partial to them as well. If I was brave enough, I would have mine chrome plated, but my “M” is not stamped very deep and I’m afraid of losing the detail.

Well after 6 axel I’m still confused but think I’m in the right road now but my is not KP 50.5” wide and it feels ’beefy’ not as slim as some I has seen so my buddys say I’m not done yet..
I could sell it if I found a curved one as I like plus the text on it. But who will pay, most dont like this axles. I guess my is a copy but if so who did them (?) but it can be Okie aswell. I like the curve this way, se pic, if so I’m finally pleased. I still lke to hear what KP CC a true Okie has that feel long, my feel fat and to short on ends so I’m not super happy. There is a cool 32 roadster in Sweden for sale with a Bell Auto axle, it has new cut ends and instead of a heavy mid section its a tube maybe from a Ford axle.
Heard of 3.5K but I never did like it when I first saw it. Now I still see to much circle or mud race with tube mid section but has to love the ends. |
